Track: Steele Creek, NC (GNCC)
Driver/Rider: Bob Sloan
Tell us a little bit about yourself. Well, I have a beautiful wife named Tricia and a loving daughter named Leighton. I don’t think I would be able to race ATV’s if it wasn’t for their love and support. They keep me grounded and push me to be the best I can. I started riding quads when I was 10 years old. I got sort of a late start into the racing world, but now that I have been doing it for about 4 years, you can definitely see how a passion can turn into an addiction.
What is your favorite part of riding a quad? That rush you feel when you are on the starting line. The grind and dedication it takes to prepare for a race. Being a part of the Slightly Bent Racing family.
How did you get started in the sport? I was shooting the breeze with a couple of friends in the garage when someone suggested trying a GNCC race. So I did. One race turned into two, then three. Here I am four years later still loving every second of it!
What are your long term racing goals? One of my biggest goals right now would be to win the 30+C class and have the opportunity to move up in to the ”B” class. I simply want to become a better rider and help take Slightly Bent Racing as far as we can go!
What is your biggest ambition? I can’t wait until my daughter is old enough to ride. I want her to be involved with racing. It’s a great atmosphere for kids and it will give her something to strive for.
How did you get involved with the team? I’ve been pitting with Dan Webb, Cliff Vowell, Rusty Repass, and Jason Gautier for about 3 years now. During that time we’ve become very close friends. So one day we came up with the idea of forming a team. I really couldn’t ask for a better group of people to race with.
